Look what just went into the oven!

Yummy, yum, yum. First, in any Italian recipe, I poured myself a nice cool glass of Merlot (I know you are supposed to drink that room temp but I just have to have one cube of ice in it). It just sets the mood for good Italian food.
I just finished making homemade lasagna and I haven't done that in a very long time because I usually get Stouffeurs as it's just so dang good. BUT, yesterday when shopping I had the inkling to make homemade lasagna. I didn't use ground beef, but ground Italian sausage (hot), and let the sauce cook in my black iron skillet for about 30 minutes with the cooked sausage before layering with the cooked noodles. Lots of cheese involved too!
In 45 minutes, I will see how it all turns out.
Saturday dinner for two is indeed a dinner for 20. I'm serious, I haven't yet to figure out how to make any recipe involving noodles or grains (like grits) for less than 5 people and there is just 2 of us. Lots of leftovers here I'm sure! And you know that lasagna is best the next day after the ingredients have gotten to know each other better in the frig.
Hope you are having a nice Saturday evening!
I hope to stitch later after cleaning all the sauce off the counters tonight!
