Going from this........to THIS?

Raven is pretty "doggone" excited about this new car.........so much that she is in motion constantly and won't stop for a cute picture! But, she gets moments like this and the only thing that will slow her down........is a hug.

So, this is the Malibu we are test driving. At an offer of 0% financing and a good trade, it's really going to work out for us maybe.
Pretty cool, huh?

and to think about going from this..........

to this.........is a decision we have to make pretty soon. Hey, it's got a good radio and it's a "stitchable"car. I could actually stitch (while a passenger of course) on long trips. The Mustang?
I could never stitch while riding in that car.......the needle would bob up and down.....just couldn't.
Bodyguard thinks that was strange to make a comment on the stitchability of the car..........but anyway......you probably know what I mean!

ok, now, back to stitching............write soon........

Progress on Herow by Bent Creek

Thursday afternoon, I went to get a haircut and guess what? A new quilt shop right beside the salon.....AND......they were having a one day "tour of quilt stores" event where folks from all over North Georgia were going to different quilt shops and they were having specials. So, after I got a trim, I went over and got 3 fat quarters to use with some stitching projects. Also, found out that the shop is having quilting classes beginning on Sat June 20th from 9-11a through 6 weeks. I have never quilted but this did peak my interest.
Worked on Herow by Bent Creek a bit and hope to finish it up tonight. While at the quilt shop I found this neat fabric with stars in the same blues and reds which would look great with it.
I have put it in the basket this afternoon to show you. Haven't decided how to utilize the fabric with it yet. Any ideas are welcome!
We went over to a place in Clarksville today to look for a frame but the warehouse has completely sold out! Very surprised......so, dropped over to an antiquey, seconds store and found this basket, made by a local there in Clarksville. Very pretty!

the star fabric from the quilt store in Dahlonega.............

My progress so far............

in my basket from Clarksville.........

So, here we are after a full day of adventures. We also test drove some cars at a dealership. We have it until Monday. We are looking at a Malibu which is so much better on suspension and doors are much lighter than the Mustang. I really don't want to part with my Mustang, it's a beautiful color but for health reasons, looks like I'm going to have to.

Cool May Morning ..........Off!

This is the best kind of morning right now...........real coffee, reading in bed and writing. My curtains are pushed back and the sun is shining bright, temp is cool. A very welcome contrast to my usual mornings of running at 7, getting home at 6. I do appreciate a job though and know its tough right now for some people who cannot find a job. I've come across folks that tell me this everyday and I feel so bad for them and usually try to make some suggestions.......don't know if anything helps, but anyway, I try.
I think I will slow down on my 3rd cup of fully caffeinated coffee......usually drink decaf at work. When I do drink real coffee, it doesn't take much before I'm shaky and that's why I don't drink it at work..........wouldn't be cool to do microscopic biopsies with the shakes! Like ....OOPS......sorry, let me do that again.........~~~shake, shake, shake~~ :)
We have a Chic-Filet Booth downstairs where I work and the Chic-Filet lady told me I could get as many refills of their decaf as I wanted so I usually zip down a couple of three times before noon to get refills. Their coffee tastes soooo good to me.
Ren likes it when I'm off too. He knows he is going to get a "biscuit" and that's not as in dog biscuit, but one from supper last night that we tucked away for him the next morning.
Last night he got a bath........doesn't take but a minute. He's not too grumpy and likes the warm water. Then he gets a little lotion rub on his back and he tucks in a blanket for awhile. He is so spoiled.......ok, I finally admitted it!
Raven and Ruby have been in rare form. They now sit at our back glass door and bark continuously through our supper. They want us to go walking at a certain time each day now. When Raven is not barking, she sits so close to the glass she fogs it, then licks the Windex off the window........the dog is not right! There is no hope for clean doors anymore.
Last night I accidentally found a skein of 221 DMC floss in a bag from my Washington trip and that I so needed and I jumped up and down and the Bodyguard thought I had won the lottery because I was telling him "221, 221, that's it" Ok, I know, you'd have to be here to understand the humor, but really saved me a trip for floss. I stitched for a couple of hours last night. And, I'm thinking about stitching this morning a bit before my PT session and adventures for hair trim this afternoon. Have no idea what will be for dinner tonight. Last night BG made great Chicken Parm......very tasty! I'm kinda in a Pizza kind of mood........oh, how I wish we had a Pizza Hut close! Love, love Pizza Hut.
Off to some stitching...........talk later.......

Walking Again

We started our little walking program again......nothing formal......just our usual walk after supper. We walk about 2 miles.......and that's 2 mountain miles. I never understood the total difference until I moved to the mountains. The last few nights have been really nice at about 70 degrees and sunny. Trying to keep the circulation going. When I lived in south Georgia, I walked more in distance but I think here walking up and down the hills is probably a little more aerobic. I try to encourage regular exercise at work with patients as the benefits are probably more than any medication treatment in women's health.
I'm pretty sore from physical therapy again but I think overall its helping.

Went to Walmart at lunch today while I was in Dahlonega and they have stopped selling DMC floss. I just needed one particular color. However, while I was in there, I perused around and a quilt caught my eye.........again. It has the colonial blues and dark reds/ golds and I couldn't resist today to put on the sofa. While their quilts are not particularly high-end, this one is a Better Homes and Garden brand and it's really very pretty! I also picked up a Country Sampler magazine which I can look though over and over for ideas. I'm feeling a little of the nesting mode again.
Off to rest my bones now............LOL

Remember Herow by Bent Creek

This weekend was a blah kind of weekend, will not bore you with the blahness but the good part of the weekend started today when I worked all day on the Bent Creek Rowz Herow design with the richest of colors, Gentle Art's Maple Syrup, Uniform Blue, Liberty, Mountain Mist, Harvest Basket and 6 DMC cottons. One of the cottons # 221, I ran out of and will have to try and get it this week. However a drive just for floss is about 60 miles round trip so we'll see when that will be. I'm undecided whether to frame this one in a dark red or soldier blue color.
A little history behind it is that I bought this in the cross stitch store in Alexandria while on our trip to Washington last month. After watching the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetary, I just couldn't resist stitching this one and putting a date on it. I may put a name and / or a war on it too, theres plenty of room for artistic detailing! My favorite is the little Desert Camo man.
Well onward to bed now for good rest.........hoping I want have hot flashes that wake me at 4am~~~~~~~
and then onward to save more lives tomorrow.............. ;) ...........actually after this weekend, work looks kinda fun!
