Junkin' and Jumpin'

First I went junkin'.

Then I went jumpin'.

I know it's that time of year for all kinds of things with many legs to appear out here but I literally got wrapped in a HUGE spider web and the spider ran across to the flowers but the web was stretched from the roof, to the table, to the birdfeeder and back to the front of the porch.

I had my camera outside to take a picture of the sweet sunset this evening but ran into this one that has definitely taken up the porch.

Oh yeah! Rounding the corner of the porch was "entangling".

I'm sorry to say it but he is not boarding here at the homestead any longer........

The day otherwise has been awesome! The sun is out for one!!  And I feel some change ever so slight back to the drier air and hopefully much cooler this weekend I hear.

I went junkin' today. I think I've adopted Thursday for junkin' day. I had something in mind I needed in the kitchen but instead found a gallon bag of  38 forks and 40 spoons for 8 bucks. Stainless steel.

Now I think I have enough for guests!

I even found a stitching frame for a large project still new in bag and all the hardware looks great......5 bucks.

and I couldn't resist this little Colonial Williamsburg piece for 3 bucks.

saw a sweet, heavy pewter angel frame in a pile for 2.00. I can't wait to stitch a small in this.

and finally a small bit of progress this morning, early with my coffee before I started the day.....
Battle Hymn of the Republic, by LHN, Lakeside Linen, DMC floss

I even played with a scrap piece of this Gingham linen I got a very long time ago to do one over one on a freebie by Liberty House Primitives "With God All Things Are Possible".

And for a nice evening it is, even with spiders.......I can't wait for the weather to change up this weekend!

Till later after I watch the show Hoarders,

Abbie Presents.......

"Hey, I'm Abbie, you know, the spoiled one at the homestead.

This is my mama's new BAP next. She said it was from My Dear Friend book by Blackbird Designs.  She has all those strings and all and I picked it out.
Thought I'd show ya'll in her own stitching chair this morning.
She is finishing up a smaller project now.

Now, I hate to run but I'm fixing to take a nap. The day is tiring me out and I'm running late for my morning nap. My mama made this big pillow for her chair and instead of her using it for her back, I claim it as my morning nap spot. She doesn't mind because she loves me anyway."

Tuesday Twisting

Out my kitchen window clearly seeing the mountains after the leaves have fallen.

Found some Cinnabon dough and will make Tuesday Twists with my coffee this morning!

The aroma in the house right now is just awesome!

I've tried their canned cinnamon rolls but these are better.....believe me, I've had 2 already. The taste is the same, no matter if your twisting is good or not.
Cinnabon.
Just the name makes me do a happy dance!

The icing really makes it a sweet treat for the morning with a couple of cups of coffee.
So, now who misses sunshine? LOL

Desperate times call for desperate measures

Hubby says, "Here, dear, is the mounting board I was thinking of? I'll put right over there with your stitching!" {{{with a big smile}}}}

Thanks honey. Humm......I'll need your help here cutting from a gun range board here to fit my frame.....zoom, he's out the door to do errands......he'll be back. Hope it works so I show you my LHN finish. I was just glad it was not one that already was used with bullet holes in it.
Now can't you see him at the shooting range telling all his trainees to save their extra boards for his wife's stitching projects? LOL LOL And he wouldn't mind it al all either. hehehe

Yesterday we were rushing to get to work and he goes out the door first. Our typical conversation as he was already in the walkway and I'm concerned the coffee he made was all regular. Didn't want that on a work day so before I made a huge cup -to-go I rushed to the door and said

"Is this decafe?'

Bodyguard, "Yes, I"ll get some cash today and smiling"

me: "No, is this DECAF in the pot?" yelling louder. Thank goodness we live in the country.

Bodyguard, still smiling says "oh, yes, I put gas in the car"

I gave up.........I don't blame him for his hearing impairment but it gets quite comical at times unless we are right next to each other. I wonder what else he just agrees with sometimes! LOL
I love that man!

So, on to breakfast. Woke up hungry with an empty pantry and it's a 7 mile drive to a grocery store so this will have to do. We ran out of milk, bread, creamer, decaf coffee, cereal, everything. So, I popped some oatmeal cookie dough out of the freezer and started slicing. And the pieces are very uneven.

No creamer, so in the country, we can sub Cool Whip.......till the grocery trip

makes it frothy at first

but blends in just like cream or milk. Problem is this is all real caffeine. Well, maybe I"ll be motivated to clean house today.

my breakfast of oatmeal, pecans and then (don't mention the bad stuff) is cooking to go with my coffee......

I know your house never gets this crazy! Not with just 2 adults. Now children in the mix, that can get crazy in the morning.
I remember, "Can you sign this?" "I need some money" or "can so and so stay over tonight?"
They used to wait right up till you would agree with anything in a rush. Anything.
Not fair. But, yes, I miss those days.....sometimes........LOL
