Yes, the news is becoming a little alarming with all the Swine Flu reports and the spread of the virus. Seems to be alot of "unknowns" out there. Working in the medical field already has magnified stressors but this, indeed, is adding to it.
Handwashing is important but the virus is really spread through respiratory means so~~~I will be "washin' up and holdin' my breath" at work! I bet the company that makes Tamiflu is getting their own little economic stimulus right now....................
Good news today is that the John James needles and threader came in the mail. Got a GREAT deal on Ebay from someone cleaning out their stash. Five bucks got me 2 packages of John James needles----one pack of gold needles and another pack of 6 needles and a threader (which I may need at times)........and a dollar shipping. Thought that was a good deal.
At lunch today, I had some time to work on another WIP, Bent Creek, Heroez. It's a great design I got while I was on the Washington trip last month. It's a nice little kit with all the threads packaged with the pattern.
I had physical therapy again after work today and very sore. Just going to rest on the couch this evening and try to keep up with current news, read and do some stitching........................

My Midnight Finish
This is a late post today to clarify and give credit for my midnight finish last night. I was a bit tired and left out the designer name. This is a freebie from The Sampler Girl blog. I decided not to frame it but try to make into a pillow instead. I really enjoyed doing this one. Thank you Tanya for such a great design!
Well, on to work now..........it's a Monday :)

A Restful Sunday
Here are a couple of things this morning that caught my eye........a picture Meghan drew a long time ago.....................................
and Brandon's pic here with the angel, hoping he is staying safe and getting the best preparation he can for the Afghanistan tour. He leaves for Afghanistan in 3 weeks. I found this piece of barnwood with the impression about a year ago actually. As I am an angel collector, I loved it when I saw it. It's pretty big, about 4 foot!

Looking at the new growth outside in the tiered garden. We have lots of violets..................
The rose garden has new growth...........................
Iris's are starting to bloom........................
The mint is growing back in the bucket......................
My meek progress this week with stitching.............................lots of filling in the roof and started some on the border and a motif............................

We couldn't ask for better weather than the past 2 days here. This morning I made my coffee a little extra strong to get some energy. The sun is out and its about 65 degrees, not a cloud in sight. The birds are singing and the animals are all stretched out on their cushions taking mid-morning naps. Looking out my back windows and through the porch are slightly hazy mountaintops with greener trees.
I took a brief walk out in the yard and noticed everything has new growth. We don't really work at any gardening plan except to weed out and oh my gosh is that a job. I am deathly afraid of snakes and I know we have them out here because there is a lake at the bottom of the hill. The Labs brought me up a dead one and put it in the walkway to the front door on Friday!!! Scared me to death! Just thankful it was dead!
For the past week, I haven't been able to really stitch as much as I want to because of my neck and arm but with rest, heating pad and medications/exercises, I am seeing a bit of improvement.
We ate supper with my friend Dot last night. She is about 75 now but such an inspiration and has the attitude and energy of a 30 year old. Her house looks like a Southern Living magazine photo . She is very talented with decorating. I don't know if you remember the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" but she is the person I can go to when I need advice on anything. She is a very wise woman.
Here's hoping that you have a restful Sunday~~~~
