Taking a break

This is the first time I've been able to get to the computer and it really worked since Tues. My laptop has a very big problem with it. It will run for a short while and then freeze the screen. I have to weigh the differences of paying someone to fix it to buying a new one. Just this morning, after 30 minutes, the screen frosted over and was nonfunctional again. This is after running all repair programs available.  Only shutting the whole system down and reboot got it back going so I could get this message out to you.

While all of this is going on, I will continue to use it till it won't work anymore because this is the only computer I have. I have an IPHONE which will get short messages and Facebook but bottom line is that I truly enjoy blogging but this and many other major things happening in my life right now is slowing down the things I enjoy doing. I have to concentrate on these unexpected events right now so I have no choice but to put blogging to the side right now for a bit. I will be back and hopefully with a working computer and more stitching to share.
I have designs on this laptop that I hope I won't lose if it crashes. Most are backed up on another device. They probably are not the best in the world but they are things that I created from my heart and would like to keep them.

The Nest Feathers Shoppe will be closed through Jan 1. I will be getting orders out from this week by Saturday, hopefully today, but by Saturday for sure as I work a full day tomorrow. Thank you so much!

During the interim, I will be working on changing the things I can, accepting things I cannot change, and the courage to know the difference.

The Serenity Prayer.

That's the way I get through every morning.

The courage to know the difference part is the hardest but it's becoming more clear to me now.

As far as medical issues, I have no disc space and possibly out of place disk on the left TMJ joint, it's scraping bone to bone and the pain is very bad. I have been referred to one place to another to another and kept appts and supposed to see a surgeon (first available) on Dec 7th.
This issue has caused alot of pain, pain and more pain. I find myself holding my jaw so I can talk through the days I work.  I'm dealing with it the best way I know how until Dec 7th.
Why this is showing itself now, I'll never know, but it certainly picked a bad time. It's hard to chew food without wincing and my choice in food now is limitied to soft or bland.
As if this weren't enough I've been presented with other major things to deal with and I will as I can.
Hopefully, I'll have a working computer and be back to myself again sooner rather than later.
I'll still be on Facebook as I can use my Iphone to drop lines there easier if my computer goes to crash mode.

I just want to take the time to say that I look forward to writing and blogging. Seems some days that I may just be chattering about silly things or showing stitching progress that most people can do 4 times faster but either way, just want to say I appreciate you taking out part of your day to read my blog.

It means more to me than you'll ever know.

Till later,
Jennifer

Dinner's Ready at Thanksgiving! sampler

Turkey Day is almost here! Each year I remember exactly how I cooked my first turkey. I left the gross stuff that's wrapped in the package in it's hollowness and didn't remove it. Boy, did I learn how to cook a turkey then! By experience!

Well, beyond that, we have celebrated in many various ways. My favorite was when I could cook and my kids were home. That just seemed natural to me. But life changes or change takes life and we try to do what we can with what we have. The meaning of Thanksgiving is still the same.

I designed a small that would be a lovely addition to your smalls basket on Thanksgiving or on the dinner table if you have a large gathering. You know on Turkey Day, seconds is always a given. But will you still have your spot at the table or couch, or wherever you find a spot to sit and gobble?

Enjoy this little prim small and pass it around when going for seconds on Turkey Day or any day for a large gathering!
