Another October Finish just in time for Halloween!

Alice, at the blog, In the Order of Things, finished the October sampler I designed. This is her gorgeous pinkeep. I love the little key and the pumpkin pin keep!!! What a clever idea for a finish!

I love, love, love the black frame and the contrasting orange rick-rack and the purple walkway. The contrasting leaves also very cute!  And the little Peek-a-boo.......just darling.

Treats for the week of Trick or Treat!

This week has been one of those big bumps in the road and actually just got mail and opened it today. Very excited to win this giveaway by Kathy  at Kathy's Stitching and Other Comments Blog. Kathy picked me!!!  LUCKY ME!  Sooooo cute. I love the bat trim at the bottom!

It was preciously wrapped in a Halloween treat bag and a very cute card with it.

Abbie appreciates it too as she was sent licks from Rory....LOL

The backing was also cute as a button. Sparkly and Halloweenie with cute purple ribbon trim.

Thank you again, Kathy and Rory for this sweet give-a-way treat!  This made my week so much brighter when I opened the mail.

It's looking spooky-cool right here by my candle pumpkin holder that Brandon gave me 2 years ago.

I have very few Halloween decorations so this year is looking brighter.

Abbie sends Rory her love too and she is sooooo envious of his shiney smooth hair as her hair days are....well, some days are bad hair days......but we still love every inch of her.

the fire place is popping but she loves the fire.

But she is also enjoying part of the heating pad on my back. She backs her little hiney right up there, even if it's on high.

She likes to get up close and personal sometimes.

Abbie loves to lick the camera lens.

Then she gives me her profile sillouette pic.

Can you tell she is a little spoiled?

But the smokey-eyed mascara look, she has down pat.

Other news is this cute scissor fob stitched by Parsley  at Seasons of the Mind Blog (and I got her photo of it) designed by me a few weeks ago. Very cute!  She stitched it one over one........nice!

Twisted Tuesday word of the Day--Autumn Leaves

This morning I woke early and decided to browse through Blogger and catch up on my blog reading. I saw Tanya's post (The Sampler Girl) for today about her mom's blog, which led to checking out her mom's website  HERE

which then led to finding this freebie  HERE and then I decided to stitch it today. What a connection, right? Well that's just the first Twist of the day.

I went into my studio and the first remnant I saw was 30 count R & R Autumn Leaves and as I looked out the sunny window and knew today was going to be a soup, bedrest and medicine for sinus infection/ear ache day, I gathered my 3 colors I chose which are GA Autumn Leaves  threads  , DMC 310 black, and Crescent Colors Smokey for the bat.

As I was stitching along with my Mighty Brite light and large cuppa hot tea, I thoroughly enjoyed stitching this piece and it made the day a little brighter.

When I finished it, I backed it with some Autumn Leaves, burnt rust fabric and then realized that I had stitched on Autumn Leaves, with Autumn Leaves thread and backed it with Autumn leaves material.

That's the Twist for Tuesday today. Maybe it's the Benadryl and Tylenol doses, I don't know but here is the finish!

It's made for a hanging and I found some remnant black ribbon that I had squirreled away in my stash after using it several years ago for a curtain tieback. Yes, I'm recycling! :0

I randomly tacked it down with black thread and tied at the bottom. I left enough at the top for a hanger and I attached these metal pumpkin bells I had in my stash from the April Boston trip.

It will probably reside here for right now, hanging on my new/old shelf with other treasures.

Thomas is jealous of the black cats and he actually peaked over my shoulder while in my stitching chair earlier.

Yep, I thought someone was peaking over me.

I promise to get the Thomas sampler freebie I designed last week stitched for him this year. Maybe on Thursday if all goes well.

Of course no posting can't be without an Abbie pic.

Today she waited patiently on her daddy to come home while I was busy. She even had taken her dirty little favorite Teddy Bear and put it in his chair.

See those eyes. They just make us cave every time to play with her.

 

I don't know which likes it more but this I know for sure.

 She has brought more happiness, more love in this home that anybody or anything ever has. She loves unconditionally and is the sweetest lump of sugar ever. The End.

There's nothing better than chocolates on Halloween......well, except candy corn!

Here's a little one to stitch on any kind of fabric, maybe as a pinkeep for the chocolates basket.

I suggest any vintagey fabric which will contrast with the deep and lighter brown colors.

Suggested colors are:

the pumpkin.......WDW Pumpkin

the heart symbol and green .......................WDW Kudzu

the darker chocolate colors..........GA Dark Chocolate

the lighter chocolate color.......GA Fudge Ripple

Couldn't sleep, so dabbled with a Halloweenie!  I know there are tons out there and if there are any exactly like this please let me know as I couldn't find one and wouldn't mean to replicate but otherwise.......just my thoughts I need to put to needle.
