Hey ya'll!
What a week in the North Ga mountains and so glad it's Friday!
Just some housekeeping shortly and later I will put some pics on of progress, the homestead and such......anyhoo, the Nest Feathers Shoppe will be in business again. I looked at my blog and saw that I ended on Mother's Day 2011. WOW! 2 years. But, I will be putting some neat things for you to use doing your crafting or antiquing.
I'm mixed between where I'm going to put my designs that are not freebies. Stay-tuned. I have decided that I will be my own model stitcher and put my hands to work and heart to God with my talents to share with others. So designing will be increasing and I'm already working on one from a request from Matthew (in the Bible). I love knitting and will continue and balance out my needlework better.
I have a request for an order for some ribbon on the blog and just noticed it. So sorry..........but definitely will fill orders and using Paypal only.
I just feel the hand of God moving me in this direction to use my talents right now in my life. With the full support of Mr. Darcy's encouragement, I can't be happier.
I will get a tag on the side bar later for you to click on to check out my Nest Feathers Shoppe in the coming days. Then when items are sold you can see that the amount changes at the bottom of the post.
I hope you are having a great Friday and until more info and later.........................................stay cool!

The Nest Feathers Shoppe News
http://thenestfeathersshop.blogspot.com/
Click here for updates on the shoppe. We are beginning vacation time and the shoppe will be closed from Sept 8th-19th. Thereafter, more items, including patterns will be added for your enjoyment as time allows to stitch models. I have many designs in my folder ready to tweak here and there. The real test is when needle and thread meet! ;)
I will still blog as time allows, only the shoppe is closed during this time.
So pop over to the Shoppe, become a follower, and keep it on your reading list as I will be adding unique findings from time to time that just may finish that special project!

A Few Fall Stitching Stash added to the Nest Feathers Shoppe
Just a note to let you know about The Nest Feathers Shoppe blog. It's been updated and I will be adding more Fallish and Holiday items. I put some today. You can take a look-see here
Thanks for all your comments. I do love reading them through the day.
I spent much of the afternoon working on another sampler, that is, trying to design one and it's in rough draft form right now. The name of it is My Stitching Chair. More to come on this in the future!
Well, back to my stitching chair where needle meets fabric.

Friday Flutters and other sundries
Sometimes I feel like a butterfly, fluttering around the many places and things I get started.....it's way too beyond ADHD but necessary right now at this part of life.
But, anyway, after work tonight and a lovely dinner of a bag of Chips, salsa, sour cream and cheese all microwaved on a plate twice over a great conversations of our days at work, Body Guard and I laughed at what needed laughing.....and said OMG, and what needed OMG! LOL
Our back porch is usually the grounding spot for us after a day's work where we can relax for a few before we get into our own ventures.
It really makes for an interesting dinner conversation at the end of a day. Law Enforcement and medical all wrapped into one. Sometimes, it's just plain wacky conversations.
After that, Miss Abbie thinks my job is to hold her 24/7 and she wants me to make up for that when I come home. However, she is getting adjusted to being held only 2 hours at night instead of 5 or 6 and by 10:30pm she is ready for bed. Sleep time for Miss Abbie.
Friday is when I remember what I forgot all during the week on my to-do list.
I have some things that needed to be mailed 2 weeks ago and I know for sure this will be mailed tomorrow.
I packaged them up and also wrote notes I needed to get out in the mail.
I also did a happy dance to clear off the kitchen island, our hot spot of clutter, and plopped down for a few with this that I got yesterday. I LOVE Country Sampler magazine. I can look at it 52 times and always find something new to either make or dream about. This is the Fall issue.

And is it ever good!!!!!
And I am definitely looking at making some prairie curtains now. Have no pattern but I really need to do this for Fall. Hubbie is amazed at how often decor changes at home, going along seasonally, but he goes with the flow.
Right before this I plopped a nice size tart melt onto the melting tin and cinnamon is filling the house making the reading even more inviting for Fall weather. I'm trying to meditate for it to come early this year. I know we have a little bit more of Summer to go but I get so excited for Fall.
I also pulled out my linen I had in my stash and started the Abbie sampler, The Dog Days of Summer.
I had some 32ct Bo Peep Pink, Belfast linen. It's the palest of pink, really pale and I like it with the sampler for her.
I'm working my way through the color process and the first colors I chose, I have changed already because I didn't have several in my stash. So, these are the ones I'm working with now.
Let's just say I really like Belfast linen. Weeks is very stretchy to me although the colors are nice.
I still have The Sampler Girl's pattern, At Home with Jane Austen in my large Qsnap and in the Needlework frame and working on the house.
Not much progress because of work.
Of course, Abbie is white with a little really light tannish spots, so I will use antique white probably for her coloring with CC country lane in her marking spots.
I picked up this green as it's really a better blend for the lettering (other than her name).
Her name I'm stitching in CC Secondhand Rose. It really goes well with the Bo Peep pink linen.
I have never stitched with this brand before but someone who knew I loved stitching found a bag of threads at an auction for very little and she gave a bagful of different ones to me. Many perle DMC which I have never used and then this Neede Necessities Inc. overdyed thread. It's a big hank of thread and my favorite of pinks so this will contrast nicely as well.
I also got this pattern in the mail this week with the accompanying backing remnant. Getting Away with Jane Austen by The Sampler Girl. Actually, I think I had it earlier.....the weeks since Ren passed has flowed one to the other, anyway, I do have it. I had planned to stitch this while in Chicago on July 4th but we never made it to a vacation due to the circumstances so I will still have this one for Sept when we do get to go again.
Can you believe Sunday is August 1st????????
I hope to get finished with the At Home with Jane Austen sampler before I begin this one.
You know how things change....I digress.
I also have some Fallish fabbie cuts to put in the Shoppe soon so stay-tuned for your Fall finishing needs.
Till later,
Jennifer

My stitching on Tuesday
Maggee ordered this pair of scissors from The Nest Feathers Shoppe. I decided to stitch a simple matching fat quarter pouch for her to accompany this......so Maggee your order is in the mail first thing in the morning. I have a soft spot for Breast Cancer Awareness and had this fabric a long time before I got the scissors.
But I think it made a perfect match and maybe a usable little pouch too.
Then stitched a little on this piece by The Sampler Girl called Sweet Land 1831, a patriotic pocket.
The rest of the day was resting and watching lightening storms....strong storms and the electricity kept blinking. At one point the wind was at 56 miles an hour, reported by the weather channel. I thought sure we were getting a tornado at one point but we didn't.
There was some flooding in Helen.
Tomorrow I will draw 2 names for the give-a-way so stay-tuned!
Hope you enjoyed your Tuesday!

Added many items in the Shoppe
Take a browse on this Sunday afternoon and see if anything peaks your Summer stitching interests.
I have added ribbons, new scissors, patterns, both new and used, a beautiful wooden box filled with sterling silver charms, linen and floss. Also I desiged a ceramic bracelet that I love so much for the summer!
Email me at jennifer.dalenberg@yahoo.com if you would like to order.
Thank you again for your comments and kind thoughts. I hope you are having a great weekend filled with Summer blessings!
Hubbie has been weed-eating for 2 days in our neck of the woods and I have been busy reading and rambling through my stash with new finds. Miss Abbie is begging me now for a play with her toys. Her fave nowadays is the one Parsley sent her. She loves it! I think she buried her other toys all about the house. LOL
If you haven't added yourself to The Nest Feathers Shop as a follower, I would encourage you to if you would like to see in Google Reader what I add intermittently throughout the year.

The Nest Feathers Shoppe housekeeping notes
Thank you for your participation in the Memorial Day sale at the Nest Feathers Shoppe. This week has been quite crazy with the lightening striking our house and so one batch of orders went out early in the week and the other batch will go tomorrow, priority mail. I so appreciate your kindness and hope to add a few more things here today including more fabric choices, and a simple bracelet I designed. My mind is never at rest much anymore, always thinking of something to keep busy.
Just a reminder that two very pretty patriotic samplers are in a give-a-way on this blog. See the side bar for details. I can't wait to see who will get these and what a better time than now to stitch them up?
Just click HERE
Enjoy your Sunday!!

Progress and packing~~I prefer progress over packing....
Well, today I continued on until I got here and started Mr. Bunny on the right. I have to leave about an hour or so to pack and it's hard to pull away from this piece because I'm enjoying it so much.
BG has been throwing hints about last minute packing for about 4 hours now.....he's all ready and organized.....me.....my free spirit is spontaneously and slowly resisting that packing for a trip phase.......
At one point in the afternoon, I was mentally saying with each petal "he loves, he loves me not" as I completed each one. Thank goodness, it landed on...... he loves me.
Well, Mr. Bunny, I must leave you, but I will see you again tomorrow on the plane as I'm packing you with me and then we'll be on our journey to Boston, or Boyston!
This southern girl is heading north.
I hope to have internet at some point during the week so till then......stay safe and I promise to bring back some goodies!
Jennifer
P.S. The Nest Feathers Shop is closed this week. Any emails for orders will be sent out the following week. Any other orders up till today will be sent out first thing in the morning.
Fiddle-Dee-dee...............ok, packing, I know, I know........

Vintage buttons and Prim large felt candle jackets added to the Nest Feathers Shop
This is a sample of 4 batches available
Also the candle warmers in felt for large candles!
Click on the icon for the Nest Feathers shop on the right column of this blog to take a peek.
I'm up at 2am because after a great night of feasting at the Mexican restaurant late and a good margarita, I took a snooze for about 4 hours. This threw off my sleep definitely! Up at 12 midnight and about to wind down again.
For everyone who has ordered from the shop and also Kat, who won the Heart of America used chart, and all the Easter goodies I will send to my sweets, I will be making a run to the post office tomorrow as well.
I thank you so much and hope by the weekend of Spring cleaning the house I can rest with my needle and thread again. I'm ready for some Spring flower stitching and sampler makeing. I think This Too Shall Pass has passed. I'm "over it" as they say. I'm glad it's past!!!
I've been spoiled this past 2 weeks and haven't cooked a thing. But Body guard insists I need rest and that a Staycation doesn't involve cooking and washing dishes.....I love that about him!
I got alot accomplished today and plan tomorrow to work more as I am now in the thread sorting mode......you know that feeling when you haven't put your threads back into places after projects for some time.
That is one thing I do is file my threads and overdyes go onto thread rings in alphabetical order.
I know it's a Virgo thing. ;)
Plus, I can't have Abbie and Ren running through the house with DMC and overdyes hanging on them!
Then Miss Abbie will be going to the vet for stitches out tomorrow. Then she will be free to roam the house and run and play a little harder. She's a bit with cabin fever right now, but oh, so spoiled.........
On a sad note, I received an email from Sandy in New Jersey yesterday that her husband died Sunday night and I feel so bad for her right now.She says they were married 37 years. I wanted to fly there and give her a great big hug but I can't.
Please pray for her through this troubling time.
Sandy J. is the sweet, sweet lady that sent me so many goodies, patterns, homemade neck warmer she knitted, and books, CDs. Oh she has a heart a mile large and it's hard to see it breaking right now.
Sandy we are keeping you in our prayers for sure.
Brandon should be released from debriefing by Friday and I'm so proud and happy for him. I hope he finds happiness in his future.
He also is on my prayer list.
Till later,
Jennifer

Need a stitching stand?
Well, if you peek over in my blog shop, I finally decided to sell my wooden stand that I have been using. I think I grew attached to it more than I thought, but now that I have the Needlework 4 system stand, I'm finding this one a new home.
