A Peak of Spring

Today we had the closest day of Spring as I can say as the temperature was 70 degrees and sunny. I had a great morning........went to get my hair trimmed, then on to some last minute errands before our trip tomorrow.

Yesterday I worked on the Be Still Sampler by The Sampler Girl and changed the colors a bit to something in my stash. I just love the Crescent Colors. The color names just make it more fun. At the bottom of the q-snap frame, you will see the fabric I chose to put on the back to make a small hanging pillow when completed.

About 5-6 months ago, I converted a linen closet downstairs to a sewing nook. Today, we got the electrical outlet in place so that I can plug in my sewing machine and get busy on finishing some stitched pieces.

Tonight I have packing to do and I am not the greatest at packing for a trip. I usually take waaaaaay more that I need to wear and now that the airlines charge for luggage weight, I"m having to really learn to pack better. On our last trip to Chicago, I literally crossed my fingers that my bag didn't weigh over 50 lbs as that is an extra charge. Let's say my luggage passed at 49.5 lbs! Whew! I will be attending a Women's Health conference for work this week in Washington, D.C. The topic is related to issues for women over 40. This should be quite interesting. So, I will be putting on my career hat this week and discussing things like PMS, mood swings, hot flashes, and menopause. Working in this field, I can venture to say that there is never a boring day! ;)
oh, and did I forget to say I absolutely love my new scissors?

Saturday stitching

Here is the progress of the Be Still and Know sampler by The Sampler Girl. I used the stitching stand today with the Qsnap frame and gained more progress. The linen is 28 count R and R Light Expresso. I'm almost finished with the border. I wish I could learn to use my new camera better and get better pictures but its out of focus and we have been unable to reset it yesterday.
I watched more TV than usual today while stitching. A couple of Law and Order shows, to a couple of Leave It to Beaver shows, "What Not to Wear" program and alot of news programs and others.
Our weather here is stormy but luckily no power outages today.
Tomorrow we are planning to go to see a movie. I looked to see what exactly was at the theatres because I really have not kept up with it. It is a tie between Duplicity with Julia Roberts or Knowing with Nicholas Cage. I'm leaning towards Duplicity but again, I'm a Julia Roberts fan and this movie is about 2 CIA agents. The trailer looked good. The Knowing movie looks intense and I'm not exactly excited to see a virtual plane crash right before I go flying Tuesday!
Well, off to sleep..........
