Ready for snow
I'm getting my snow boots out. The weather channel says we will have a very cold week and that by Friday, we will be getting snow and the high will be 29 degrees for Friday and Saturday so maybe it will stick this time.
Last night it was 11 degrees, so we certainly have felt the arctic blast that even sent freezing temps into Florida.
More good stitchy weather. I have one more week off for vacation before going back to work. I'm thinking of all the things I can do but PJ'S by the fire place is winning every time ;)
Tomorrow is Terrie's new shop opening in Buford Ga. Her previous store was The Dogwood Patch. Her new one is called The Stitch Store. I can't wait to see pictures of her new stitching store. She, like me, loves pink and I think there will be alot of pink in her new shop.
I may make the drive tomorrow for the grand opening, but then I may not. Just depends on a few factors but she is giving away a Just Nan doorprize for the day! There is a Hobby Lobby very close to her store too so this is very tempting. I need to do an inventory on my DMC stash and list them for my next town trip. Does that sound country or what? LOL
I have a couple of things to exchange at Walmart as well. BG got me some pretty little pink thermals that , believe it or not, are too small. I will certainly need some this weekend from what I hear.
Pop over to The Sampler Girl's blog for information on her new upcoming Emma project. She will be designing something to stitch for the PBS show at the end of the month, Emma.
Calling all Jane Austen fans!!!! I can't wait to see what she is designing next!
Well, BG just said he saw our woodpecker in the yard who is quite large. I'll try to get a pic of him. He usually comes only when it gets deep winter. He is very big and has a big red front. I remember a couple of years ago when we were snowed in and I was walking around the yard in BG's old boots, everything was quiet and peaceful white, when I looked up and there he was, banging away at the tree. I got a good pic of him that year but can't seem to locate it right now.
Speaking of bird watching, this morning when I was about to make coffee, looking out my kitchen window, I saw the fattest sparrow ever, just sitting on our Dogwood tree next to the house! I love to watch birds. I think they are so fascinating.
Till later,
Jennifer

I'll take a pair of those boots...size 10. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooked at a lot of boots this weekend. I'm so sad I couldn't find any as cute as those. My tennies aren't too awful of a fit so I think I'll stick with them. I also need some simple black heels. Can't make big feet like mine look attractive in heels but I try.
So glad to hear that you really seem to be enjoying your time off! It also sounds like you are feeling much better - yeah!
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe! Stitching by the fire in pj's is my idea of a great time!
Hi Jennifer! I love to watch birds and waves in the ocean... Can't wait for spring so I can do both! I live in an area with a Natural Wildlife center that is on both the ocean and a bay, so I can satisfy all my likes when I go there!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing well on Northanger Abbey! You should be done in no time at all! :0
I hear we might see some snow too... Right now it is about 15 degrees and the winds...BRRRRRR!
Hugs,
Maggee
I love your boots--just what I've been looking for! I'd love to have some more snow if it doesn't interfere with getting around. What fun to plan a trip to a new needlework store...
ReplyDeleteSure hope we get some of that snow you're anticipating!!! Although - we still have some on the ground from the two footer a few weeks ago. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's mighty cold here - brrrrr!
Stay warm :)
Tanya
I got these boots last year at Walmart and they really are very comfortable. I forgot what I paid for them but it was very, very reasonable.
ReplyDeleteTanya, it is cold out there, especially for here.
ReplyDeleteI watch the weather channel and see that a new arctic blast is coming in Thursday and Friday for us and I think it will head up the coast your way a few days later.
So, you still have snow on the ground? Oh, how fun!
