Welcome May and Happy Sun Day

Good morning, God!

It's another month, May.

I can't help but be reminded of this poem I have had on a plaque for 26 years.
I wonder what color threads He has planned today?

The Weaver

My life is but a weaving,

between my God and me,

I do not choose the colors,

He worketh steadily.

Ofttimes he weaveth sorrow,

and I in foolish pride

Forget He sees the upper,

and I the underside.

Not till the loom is silent,

and the shuttles cease to fly,

Will God unroll the canvas,

and explain the reasons why

The dark threads are as needful

in the skillful weaver's hand

As threads of gold and silver

in the pattern He has planned.

  1. This is beautiful Jennifer! I'm so glad I saw that today. I'm going to copy it and save to a Word document to have on hand.

I think that would make a beautiful sampler some day.

  7. Oh - love this poem! Can you make it into a pattern? This would be a beauty to have on my stitching room wall.

Maybe I'll have to break out my pattern maker. Hmmm...

Thanks for giving me something to think about this morning.
