On Any Shore With You Finished!

Today I finished, On Any Shore With You by The Sampler Girl. This was my goal today.
I coffee stained it and then dab dyed it, blow dried it, and then sewed some strips of a fat quarter on to it. As you can see my sewing is not perfect but with all the imperfections here, you can see that it's a great piece!!!!
I hope it was ok to substitute our initials instead of the ones on the pattern. I left the year the same. I guess we were in another lifetime here!!! LOL

  1. Jennifer - I love your new finish! I don't see any imperfections at all. You're really gutsy to do the staining. I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to doing that. Also, I saw your comment on my blog but couldn't find your email. If you'd like I could try to get over to my Joanne's this week and see if they have any more of the scissors left and get them for you. They were both $14.99 each (they don't allow coupons on them). Let me know. My email is in my profile.

  2. Congratulations! I think it looks perfect. I have not mailed that pattern yet. Mostly because I am an idiot lately. Tonight, I packed baggies to put in the soldier care packages! That was the most rewarding thing I have done in awhile!

  3. Deb, this is the 2nd one I've ever coffee stained and its kinda fun!
It wasn't as blotchy as I wanted it so I just took a few grounds and rubbed them in a few spots and let it sit....holding my breath...and then I rinsed and dried it. I think you can oven bake it but I thought of blow drying it instead.....alot quicker.
I was like a kid with playdough in the kitchen today LOL
I'll e mail you about the scissors. Thanks so much for that. Very sweet of you.......

  4. Michelle,
no worries here about the pattern, I've got lots started too.
I know the summer is busy with kids.
And, sending baggies to soldiers is better and the best thing in the world.......you are so generous to give of your time like this. I'm wondering how long it takes to get a letter there or a package, do you know?

p.s. BG knew 2 of the men that have died recently from the Georgia unit. Really, really nervous about it.
