Thrifty Thursday

The best thrift store find for frames is this one:
$1.99---It's an oval 5 x7 beautiful wood frame I found mixed in alot of junk at a thrift store.
God help me please. I can't stitch enough for all the fabric and frames I have collected.

It's got a nice deep inset and metal thingies to secure it when framing. I love it.

That's what I call a bargain. I will add it to my collection and I'm sure a sampler I finish will fit nicely into this one day and become part of my new sampler wall upstairs.
Do you like rummaging through thrift stores?
You just never know what you might find!
You know what I would love to do one day? I would love to take a week off during the hugest yard sale that is yearly. I'm not sure where it starts but it goes I think through 3 states. I think it's in August.
Wouldn't that be a nice road trip?

  1. Jennifer -

I am shocked! You mean we have to stitch all we have stashed. Here I thought I was evolving from a stitcher to a collector of patterns. Just did some serious ordering damage with Market goodies - I love it!

  2. I LOVE to rummage through boxes at the thrift store too! The huge 127 yard sale runs through Kentucky. We try to hit a small part of it each year.

  3. Great frame, can't wait to see what you stitch for it. My Dad was known for thrift shopping no matter where he was holiday or not. I have a fair amount of frames, but they are rather large for what I stitch these days.

  4. Longest Yard sale starts in Gadsden Al, about 60 miles northeast from me. I have never shopped it. I love Thift store shopping. I have found alot of Hardcover cross stitch & needlepoint books for like $1.00 and on ebay sale for 19.00 and up. I never sale mine. Great Frame find!!!

  5. Great frame Jennifer. Nothing better than a thrift shop find for a frame. You have to love the price. I've heard of that garage sale, but don't remember what states it goes through. We have one similar here in August I think, but it just winds through a few towns.

  10. I am not a fan of yard sales and not much for thrift shops, but after seeing some goodies people have found, I may be changing my tune a bit. Thanks for sharing your treasure! It will be neat to see what you put in it, eventually.

  11. Hi Jennifer,

I usually go to thrift shops and have found wonderful things.I like finding old baseball things:balls, gloves, masks ... but this is very difficult in Spain .
I love this frame. I look forward to seeing what you stitch for it.
