Started out a rainy, drizzly gray morning outside........
but inside we slept late
picked daffodils in the rain
made blueberry pancakes
started a fire in the fire place
This is what I call Home.
I thought putting the raindrop, Daffodils this morning was perfect in my scissor frog in front of a small sampler I made previously, from The Sampler Girl! Yep, it's a rainy day, Daffodil duck day.
Be a cheerful spot on a gray day.
We must have the rain to appreciate the sunshine.
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze,
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils
~~~William Wordsworth
I believe that frog was made for daffodils (and, of course, scissors when the daffodils are gone, lol).
ReplyDeleteLovely post! Sounds like a very cozy morning and your daffodils look wonderful in your frog!
ReplyDeleteOO a lovely cozy stitching place you have there ... I used to sing "I wandered lonely" etc in the choir many moons ago ... the daffodils look perfect in the frog and look so fresh with the rain on them :) love mouse xxx
ReplyDeleteI love the daffodils in the frog, they look lovely. I love the raindrops on them. I can see your collection of scissors in there as well. We are supposed to get rain all weekend, better than snow. Have a wonderful weekend. Pat
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils are just gorgeous. I am wanting spring so bad but here in NY it is still chilly. I haven't seen any signs of growth yet. :(
Aren't daffodils the most beautiful flowers. Your photos are really lovely and it looks as if you have the perfect stitching place. I wandered lonely as a cloud is one of my favourite poems. - Sandra.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home you have.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures - thank you!
