Counting Stitches, Counting Colors and Counting Blessings

This pink alpaca lace scarf is a joy to knit. It's one row lace and I improvised as my previous post said with a block of garter after a section. Well, I believe this started a pattern......no pun intended.
My hubbie says that it would look good to put several of those in sections in the scarf. So............

I've come up to the distance of where another one would go. And this ball of yarn is still there. I'm so surprsed at how far one skein would go!

Oh how I can see this will be a good blocking project!

I want you to know that with this pattern, only 1 hank is going on forever, which is a good thing as it's precious yarn. I estimated 3 hanks. I believe 2 would be way, way enough for a nice, light scarf.

Being one of my favorite colors is pink.....................I thought that I really have many colors I love to work with. My second favorite is red and I tend to stitch with alot of red. Then, my third is dark teal and light teal/turquoise. These are my top three faves. Here's another one started in red.

This yarn is Simplicity by Hikoo, 55% Merino Superwash, 28% acrylic, 17%Nylon in the color Simplicity Red. I'm using different needles, both type and size. I LOVE and prefer aluminum over wood so this one will go faster. The size of this needle is 8.

I think of my grandmother with this yarn. She LOVED red. I miss her so even though it's been years since she passed. She made a very positive impression on my life. If she were alive today, she would have me learn to knit everything in red. :)

I count my blessings every day and on Sunday's especially I reflect back on the week and even if a simple thing to some, it's a blessing to me.

~~the smell of Peach Cobbler muffins baking in the oven
~~the feeling of being able to do something special for my hubbie
~~watching a HUGE red-headed woodpecker from the back porch
~~chomping into with my hands (no manners) a good country fried pork chop
~~my hubbie's love and care that is awesome and rare
~~my hubbie reading from the Scriptures when we go to bed out loud to me to help me sleep--priceless
~~that last can of Raveoli in the pantry
~~finding that last serving of peach cobbler in the frig and just enough ice cream to go on top
~~reading a really good book and finding the next one
~~being thankful I'm alive
~~watching our Dogwood tree blossom this week
~~thankful for answered and unanswered prayers
~~watching Abbie as she is training now (hasn't ever before)
~~bacon dog treats
~~the view of the mountains in Spring
~~actually wearing a scarf I knitted
~~my Godmother
~~ God's reminders that He made us and will never leave us.

Just simple and basic things that really if you think about it, are blessings.
There are so many more. It's just been one of those weeks to count my blessings even moreso.

Purl of Wisdom  ~ Simple things, just using different variables, such as needles and thread/yarn, will still yield a different but beautiful finish. We aren't all the same or made that way and that is actually a good thing most of the time.

Hope your weekend was a good one!
