Stitching Away the Blues

Ah, it's Sunday and time to rest! I finished reading The Shack last night at midnight and the book left me with much to think about, that's for sure......very good book.
I started a sampler by The Sampler Girl that I had in my stash for awhile called New Amsterdam 1624 Sampler. Love, love the blue colors! I have enjoyed working on this piece. The linen is 32 ct Antique White and the fibers are a mixture of DMC, WDW and Crescent Colors. The predominant blue is Presidential Blue.

As I have stitched away all morning and this afternoon now while watching CNN and the Presidential speech, I found it very fitting to stitch with Presidential Blue--that's very ironic. I am a delft collector and this will definitely look good in our house. I put a piece of delft next to the colors so you could see how well it blends. I am working on the various motifs and then, will start the letters.

Well, I guess I just must put this down and get some other things done around the house. The BodyGuard has been steady working at many projects and cleaning alot. Hmmm.......what's up with that? LOL No, really, I think it's great and now I have to pull myself away from stitching some more blues to doing some house chores. :-(
Will write later.......enjoy your Sunday afternoon!

  3. Yes, I love the delft colors. I'm already thinking about a frame for it. I like the one in the model from Hog River; however, I don't remember where I heard this, but I think Hog River is not making frames any more. I'll have to check it out again. I may use a darker wood frame.....but I do like the white one in the picture.

  4. What a beautiful sampler! Brightneedle did a sampler called Sunshine and Shadow. It would be beautiful stitched in blues.

  7. Thanks, Denise! Oh, I would love to hear them speak but I probably won't be able to make the trip from Georgia this summer. The book was really good. I think it was perfect timing when I read the book. It has helped me come to terms with many things. I did find the website there and listened to a couple of discussions.
