A Peak of Spring

Today we had the closest day of Spring as I can say as the temperature was 70 degrees and sunny. I had a great morning........went to get my hair trimmed, then on to some last minute errands before our trip tomorrow.

Yesterday I worked on the Be Still Sampler by The Sampler Girl and changed the colors a bit to something in my stash. I just love the Crescent Colors. The color names just make it more fun. At the bottom of the q-snap frame, you will see the fabric I chose to put on the back to make a small hanging pillow when completed.

About 5-6 months ago, I converted a linen closet downstairs to a sewing nook. Today, we got the electrical outlet in place so that I can plug in my sewing machine and get busy on finishing some stitched pieces.

Tonight I have packing to do and I am not the greatest at packing for a trip. I usually take waaaaaay more that I need to wear and now that the airlines charge for luggage weight, I"m having to really learn to pack better. On our last trip to Chicago, I literally crossed my fingers that my bag didn't weigh over 50 lbs as that is an extra charge. Let's say my luggage passed at 49.5 lbs! Whew! I will be attending a Women's Health conference for work this week in Washington, D.C. The topic is related to issues for women over 40. This should be quite interesting. So, I will be putting on my career hat this week and discussing things like PMS, mood swings, hot flashes, and menopause. Working in this field, I can venture to say that there is never a boring day! ;)
oh, and did I forget to say I absolutely love my new scissors?

  1. Your Ren is so cute! Is he named after the Ren of Ren and Stimpy? My kids used to watch that show every chance they could get and then got me watching it.

Have fun on your trip. My friends and I are always laughing about our shared women's issues and maladies.

  2. Yes, he was indeed named after that Ren on Ren and Stimpy. We used to watch those too when my kids were younger. I love my little Ren. He will be 16 in September this year. I miss him already. We had to board him today for our trip. My husband and I are going to get a girlie chihauahau one day, picked out the name Abigail already........but we'll see.
Yes, I always get giddy before trips .....LOL
