I found a stitching friend Saturday

My new found friend (Betsy), from Bessie Mae's Cottage near Dahlonega, Ga.~~ the best primitive store around!
I love to go in her store and look at so many new things, especially what Carolyn has made. Carolyn makes all her prim dolls, cats, animals, etc, pillows, pincushions, just all KINDS of cute things.

I've seen this one in particular before a couple of weeks ago. She must be a Betsy doll as she is holding and stitching the flag. Her legs are a bit turned around but she is really very cute and very prim. She has a weighted bottom, feels like grass inside to sit on a shelf, and is quite large.

Cheryl, the owner, asked me what I was going to stitch on her apron.

I'm still thinking on that one.

She even came with her own rusty needle and thread~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  2. Jennifer, I was just there last Monday! She has just the neatest things and I agree that I love them all. But I don't remember seeing your stitchin Betsy...guess I was just too focused on Halloween. Have you been to Hearts & Flowers Primitives further down the road? We may to road trip and shop!
